The best offline RPGs for people with small phones
Role-playing games on a phone used to mean squinting at tiny menus and praying your signal held. That's changed. A whole category of offline RPGs now runs well on modest hardware, and plenty of them read fine on a compact screen.
The trick is looking for games that scale their UI and use readable fonts. Emberfall Chronicle is my current favorite because its combat grid stays legible and the text is large enough to read one-handed on a train.
Save handling matters even more in an RPG, since you're investing hours. I always test whether a game survives a forced restart mid-battle. The good ones pick up right where you left off.
My short list: look for turn-based combat over twitchy action if your screen is small, favor games with manual saves, and don't be afraid of titles with simple graphics. Style often ages better than raw detail.
